Our pasties are already available at selected outlets in the West Country but this is the first major retailer to sell the product.
Posh Pasty Co is the creation of chef and sustainable living expert, James Strawbridge.
The pasties are hand crafted from local ingredients to his strict specification by Cornwall’s award winning Crantock Bakery based in Indian Queens.
The West Country favourites were spotted by Selfridges food buyer, Adrian Boswell, who invited James and his pasties to the London store so he could taste them.
When James got the call he baked a special batch of pasties, packed them in a basket, dressed in his signature uniform of trilby hat, waistcoat, jacket and tie and travelled to London by train.
He said: “We sampled all five flavours of pasty together. Adrian was really impressed and talked about how much he appreciates young

“It was a lovely thing to have someone who eats so much outstanding food being so excited by our products.”
The Posh Pasty Co range will be launched at Selfridges as part of the store’s Meet the Makers promotion which celebrates the artisans and tastemakers of the food world.
As part of the campaign, all 24 of the store’s windows will display the very best contemporary talent in food.
Mr Boswell said: “When I sampled James’ pasties I was impressed with his innovative range of products which all came with their own dip. We need to make sure Selfridges has a well stocked deli counter. Everyone loves a pasty.”
Matthew Hurry, managing director for Crantock Bakery, said: “This is the first major leap into the big city for Posh Pasties.
“We already make Posh Pasties for a range of delicatessens, cafes, farm shops, bespoke weddings, festivals and the Eden Project, but supplying such a prestigious store is a huge endorsement of what we know is a top quality product created from the very best Cornish produce.”
