The Posh Pasty Company was founded in 2013 by chef and TV presenter James Strawbridge and his wife Holly. They have developed a range of gourmet flavours that retain a rustic farmhouse quality and offer a proper taste of Cornwall.
James is a TV cook, food entrepreneur, and sustainable living expert. In 2013 he co-founded the Posh Pasty Co with his wife Holly. They have three young children who love eating Posh Pasties. James’ recent TV work includes It’s Not Easy Being Green (BBC2), The Hungry Sailors (ITV1), and Saturday Farm (ITV1). He is also a published author, releasing several cookery books and titles on sustainable living. When not crimping, James can be found gig rowing for his local club, or sailing his wooden boat on the River Fowey.
Holly is Jamesʼ wife, and co-founder of the Posh Pasty Co. Her journey to pasties began, rather unusually for the founder of a food company, with a career in acting. Having studied at the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama in London, Holly trod the boards in plays and television dramas, without a pasty in sight. After several years her creative work took her behind the camera, with a career in television development for the BBC and independent media companies. Still no sign of pasties. A move to Cornwall sparked her interest in all things food related, especially pasties, and thus a few years later the Posh Pasty Company was born, along with her three young children, the Posh Pasty Co tasting team.
Gilly trained as a pastry chef in Cornwall during the mid-80’s before heading to London to further her career, the pull of Cornwall however was too much for her and she returned home. Since the 90’s Gilly has worked in a variety of jobs but found her calling when she joined Crantock Bakery in November 2004 as one of their sales team, and where she remains to this day. She has been working alongside James since 2013 when The Posh Pasty Co chose to work with Crantock Bakery as their producer of the Posh Pasty range.
When she has some spare time and isn’t travelling throughout the Southwest and beyond presenting products to new and existing customers, she loves to travel to anywhere hot and sunny! In addition, her other loves are still horses, though she rides less these days, reading and walking.
